Natalia Fernández Jimeno is a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at University of Oviedo (Spain). Her thesis, supervised by Marta I. González García and José Antonio López Cerezo, is about the concept of motherhood in the context of assisted reproductive technologies. Following Feminist STS studies and the idea of the coproduction of gender and technology, she explores how these technologies could reinforce or subvert the institution of motherhood and the active role of the users in it.
She is also a contracted researcher for the Research Group on Social Studies of Science of the University of Oviedo funded by the government of the Principado de Asturias.
