I am a Research Fellow at the Department of Political and Social Sciences (University of Bologna) and an Adjunct Professor in Anthropology at Istituto Europeo di Design (Italy). Currently, I am performing a socio-anthropological analysis on embryo donation between Spain and Italy.

In 2020, I published "Sistemi procreativi. Etnografia dell'omogenitorialità in Italia" [Procreative Systems. Ethnography of Same-Sex Perenthood in Italy], both my first book and the first monograph on same-sex families in Italy. During my Postdoc (2017-2020), I conducted an ethnographic research on US surrogacy in California, involving in my study gestational surrogates, egg donors, intended parents, lawyers and medical staff. During this time, I directed an experimental  project of applied anthropology called “Fertility Narratives Lab” within a fertility clinic of Southern California.

In 2017, I obtained a Ph.D. in Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. In 2016, I was a Visiting Scholar Researcher at the Department of Women's Studies at San Diego State University, California. In 2013, my research on lesbian motherhood wasawarded as best Italian MA thesis on Gender and LGBT Studies.
